He joined the school in September 2000 as a lecturer in Finance, was promoted to Senior Lecturer in May 2005 and then to Professor of Finance in February 2011. He was formerly a lecturer at the University of Newcastle where he obtained his PhD. He has been a visiting research fellow at the Institute for International Integration Studies at Trinity College Dublin and a visitor at the University of Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>He is member of the\u00a0Centre for the Analysis of Investment Risk\u00a0and the\u00a0Centre for Growth and Business Cycle Research\u00a0at Manchester. He is also a member of the\u00a0American Finance Association,\u00a0Financial Management Association,\u00a0Eastern Finance Association European Finance Association,\u00a0European Financial Management Association\u00a0and the\u00a0Money, Macro and Finance Research Group. And an Associate Editor for the\u00a0Financial Review, European Journal of Finance,\u00a0International Review of Financial Analysis\u00a0and\u00a0Research in International Business and Finance\u00a0and sit on the advisory board of the\u00a0British Accounting and Finance Association\u00a0special interest group in\u00a0Financial Markets and Institutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stuart James Hyde is a Professor of Finance and currently Postgraduate Research Director and Deputy Head of School.
