Presentation of the Doctoral Consortium<\/b><\/p>

Thesis projects should be submitted in the format of a scientific article according to the instructions below.<\/p>

Formatting the paper:<\/b><\/p>

  • Paper format: A4;<\/li>
  • Font: Times New Roman\/size 12;<\/li>
  • Spacing: single, text arranged in one column;<\/li>
  • Alignment: justified;<\/li>
  • Margins: upper: 3 cm; lower: 2 cm; left: 3 cm; right: 2 cm;<\/li>
  • Pagination: insert page number at the bottom right hand side;<\/li>
  • Titles in upper case letters and subtitles in lower case letters;<\/li>
  • File format: PDF;<\/li>
  • The paper may have a maximum of 10 pages, including the text itself, illustrations, and bibliographical references;<\/li>
  • The text must start with the title, followed by the introduction. We suggest that authors prepare an extended abstract in a separate document and copy and paste each item in the specific field when submitting;<\/li>
  • The bibliographical references should be cited throughout the text according to the (author-date) system and presented in alphabetical order at the end of the paper, according to the APA or ABNT\/NBR-6023 standards.<\/li><\/ul>

    Suggested structure of the academic Doctorate Proposal:<\/b><\/p>

    Title and Research Area (follow the description of the thematic areas of SemeAd)<\/p>

    \u2013 Introduction (Problem and Research Objective):<\/p>

    Describe the latest developments in the theme in question. Present the research problem as an argument. Present the main research objective (the thesis to be defended) and any specific objectives.<\/p>

    – Justification:<\/p>

    Present the expected academic contribution(s) in a substantiated way. Present any contribution to management or public policies (strongly recommended, but not obligatory). Present any methodological contribution (not obligatory). Present the expected social impact of your project (strongly recommended, but not obligatory);<\/p>

    \u2013 Theoretical Framework:<\/p>

    Present the main theoretical argument(s), framework, and definition of the key constructs of the project. Propositions and\/or hypotheses;<\/p>

    – Methodology: describe the research design<\/p>

    Approach (e.g. qualitative, quantitative), Method or Research Strategy (e.g. primary data collection, case study, grounded theory, etc.), Collection Technique (e.g. survey, in-depth interview, observation, etc.), Data Analysis Technique (e.g. multivariate analysis, content analysis, discourse analysis, etc.);<\/p>

    – Bibliographical References.<\/p>

    Suggested structure of the professional Doctorate Proposal:<\/b><\/p>

    Structured Abstract (submission page<\/i>):<\/b><\/p>

    • Title (190 characters at most);<\/li>
    • 200-word abstract<\/li><\/ul>

      Papers that are not in the specified format will not be accepted.<\/b><\/span><\/p>

      Submission of the abstract and the article gives the organizers permission to send it to the reviewers who will compose the jury. For the scientific community, only the abstracts will be disclosed in the SemeAd Annals.<\/p>

      Enrolment and presentation of papers in the Doctoral Consortium will allow the doctoral student access to the article presentation sessions.<\/p>
