Responsible for designing and meeting the volunteering schedule, from recruitment and selection to the performance evaluation of the student volunteers.<\/p>

Coordinates the volunteers so that all sessions run properly. Invites the Theme Leaders and keeps a direct communication channel with them. Holds welcome meetings with all Theme Leaders and Discussants. Trains the Theme Leaders. Helps allocate volunteers to the sessions and run them. Carries out outreach on SemeAd’s social media. Sends invitation emails to the coordinators of partner universities so they can promote the available openings.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A professor selected by the coordinators of each area who is to lead the work area under their responsibility. They tell the Area Advisor<\/b> who will be the moderating professor of each paper presentation session. If the Moderator is absent, the Theme Leader may be asked to moderate the session, or the discussant will perform this role.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A person selected by the Volunteer Coordinator. Area advisors must be available during the times of the sessions in their area of interest and may, occasionally, replace a discussant who does not show up or has a connection problem at the time of the session. They are responsible for the communication between the theme leaders and the moderating professors of the sessions, as well as for allocating the sessions to the virtual rooms, so that they can take place as scheduled.<\/p>

Some may be assigned to specific activities such as the Keynote Speakers, Business Speakers, Doctoral Consortium or Sapiens sessions.<\/p>

They must attend the meetings and training sessions before the event<\/strong> (virtual meeting with date and time to be defined). These members schedule and conduct the training of their discussants.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Most volunteers work in this role. Some may be assigned to specific activities such as the Keynote Speakers, Business Speakers, Doctoral Consortium or Sapiens sessions.<\/p>

In the paper presentation sessions, the discussant is responsible for managing and timing the presentations of the session they are in charge of; assisting the session’s moderating professor and, in their eventual absence, moderating the session. Therefore, the discussant student must read the session’s papers, preparing constructive questions and comments to be presented. Advisors may choose to work in online or in-person sessions. In online sessions, the student must have a stable internet connection and access to a computer or laptop.<\/p>

In addition, they must take part in a meeting and a training session<\/strong> (virtual meeting with date and time to be defined) and be available during SemeAd (morning and afternoon of 11\/05, 11\/06, 11\/07 and 11\/08).<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

A professor nominated by the Theme Leader with academic experience in the session’s topics and able to contribute to it. The moderator must be an experienced researcher with good knowledge of their research field. In principle, this is the Theme Leader themselves, someone with characteristics and level similar to the Leader, or nominated by them. The criterion to be selected as Moderator is that the volunteer holds a doctoral degree and is affiliated with an educational institution where they work as a professor.<\/p>

They are responsible for moderating the paper session they were invited to, in which they will mediate among the presented articles. It is essential that they have the expertise to lead discussions about the papers. At the end of the session, they must evaluate the discussant they shared the work with through the questionnaire (Volunteer Performance Evaluation).
