China and Latin America: investments, management and research cooperation – cultural challenges and opportunities
University of Sao Paulo (USP), Sao Paulo – Brazil
November 11–12, 2026

About the Conference

As global power structures undergo profound transformation, academic cooperation is becoming increasingly vital in interpreting change, shaping collective responses, and advancing shared knowledge. Today’s evolving geopolitical and economic landscape challenges conventional models of development and governance, while also creating opportunities for a renewed analytical lens. It also encourages new forms of collaboration grounded in sustainability, innovation, and mutual understanding.

Latin America and China, shaped by distinct historical trajectories and institutional capacities, are becoming more interconnected through multidimensional academic engagement. Across fields ranging from economic restructuring and digital transformation to environmental governance and cultural exchange, scholars are uniquely positioned to generate rigorous, context-sensitive insights that both inform public policy and enrich broader societal dialogue.

The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Fudan–Latin America University Consortium (FLAUC), will be hosted by the University of Sao Paulo (USP) at FEA (School of Economics, Business, Accounting and Actuary/USP), and will introduce an important innovation: the conference will be held jointly with SemeAd (https://semead.com.br/29/en/), one of Brazil’s largest and most prestigious conferences in the field of management.

This partnership will bring together scholars from diverse academic communities and disciplinary backgrounds, fostering broader intellectual exchange and creating new opportunities for collaboration on the theme “China and Latin America: investments, management and research cooperation – cultural challenges and opportunities.” By connecting researchers from Brazil, China, Latin America, and other regions, the joint event aims to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue and expand the global reach and impact of the conference.
