HOW TO GET THERE

Public transportation:

Nearest SUBWAY station: BUTANTÃ Station – Line 4 (Yellow).
When you arrive at Butantã station, take Line 8012-10 Cidade Universitária/Metrô Butantã (CIRCULAR 1) at the station bus terminal.
Get off at AV. PROF. LUCIANO GUALBERTO, 908, in front of FEA (School of Economics and Business Administration).

Nearest TRAIN station: CIDADE UNIVERSITÁRIA – Line 9 (Emerald).
Get off at Cidade Universitária station. Cross the bridge and enter through the pedestrian entrance. Go to the nearest stop, on the left, and take Line 8022-10 Cidade Universitária/Metrô Butantã (CIRCULAR 2). Get off at AV. PROF. LUCIANO GUALBERTO, at the School of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU) stop, and cross the street to reach FEA.

By car:
From Marginal Tietê, head towards Castelo Branco until you reach Marginal Pinheiros. On the local lane, after passing the Jaguaré Bridge, turn onto Av. Escola Politécnica (first right after the bridge). Take the first left U-turn and turn right immediately onto Av. Prof. Melo Morais. Take the second right onto Av. Professor Lucio Rodrigues Martins. Turn right again onto Av. Prof. Luciano Gualberto.

From Marginal Pinheiros, head towards Castelo Branco and take the Cidade Universitária Bridge. Following Rua Alvarenga, turn right at the intersection with Av. Afrânio Peixoto. Enter through the main campus entrance (P1). Go straight along Av. da Universidade to the second square (Praça Prof. Rubião Meira), go around it and take Av. Prof. Lineu Prestes and then, on the right, Av. Prof. Luciano Gualberto.

Population

São Paulo is the seventh most populous city in the world, behind only Shanghai (China), Lagos (Nigeria), Karachi (Pakistan), Istanbul (Turkey), Mumbai (India) and Moscow (Russia).

There are approximately 60 commercial streets, covering not only electronics but also home products. Oscar Freire Street is well known for its luxury products and was ranked one of the eight most luxurious streets in the world.

There are 50 medium and large shopping malls in the city. The 40 most traditional ones receive about 90 million people per month.

Tourism and culture

Nights in the city are lively: there are several restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets and gyms that never close. The city is open 24 hours a day.

There is no other place in South America with more cultural options than São Paulo: more than 110 museums, more than 30 parks and more than 180 theater and show options.

São Paulo has the largest hotel offering in South America: 42,000 hotel rooms across 410 hotels.

São Paulo’s city parks correspond to 19 million square meters of green area. Ibirapuera Park is the most traditional in São Paulo and receives more than 900,000 visitors per month.

There are still indigenous populations living in the capital. They are from the Guarani Krukutu tribe, and live in the Parelheiros region and at Pico do Jaraguá.
