Important Information

This year, presentations (PowerPoint files or pre-recorded videos) do not need to be submitted in advance.

Papers will be presented by the authors attending each session.

Paper presentations at SemeAd will take place both online and on-site. Please read the following information carefully.

Instructions for Paper Presentations (On-site and Online)

The presentation time will be 15 minutes for all types of submissions.

Scientific papers, technological reports and teaching cases must be presented using PowerPoint. There are no specific formatting requirements for the slides.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that participants read the papers scheduled for their session in advance and prepare comments and contributions to discuss with the other authors.

Instructions for On-site Paper Presentations

  1. We recommend bringing your presentation on a USB flash drive and, as a precaution, keeping a backup copy in your personal email account.

  2. To avoid delays, presenting authors are requested to arrive at the assigned room 15 minutes before the session begins to prepare their presentations.

Instructions for Online Paper Presentations

  1. Compatibility Test – To ensure a smooth participation experience, authors are advised to test their browser and equipment compatibility in advance. To perform the test, please visit: https://zoom.us/test

  2. Equipment – We recommend that authors join the session using a computer and have an alternative device available if needed. Connection or technical issues related to equipment and networks cannot always be anticipated.

  3. Session Link Test – Please test your session link in advance. The meeting room will open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, allowing authors to resolve any unexpected technical issues.

  4. Session Moderation – Each session will have a moderator responsible for organising and coordinating the proceedings.

  5. Presentations – Authors are advised to have their presentations open on their computers or other devices before their session begins. This will make it easier to start presenting and share their screens.

  6. Avoid System Overload – Keep the number of open browser windows and tabs to a minimum, and close unnecessary applications. This will help ensure smooth screen sharing and reduce the risk of technical issues during your presentation.

  7. Identification – At the beginning of the session, please introduce yourself to the moderator, confirm your attendance and identify the paper you will be presenting.

  8. Zoom Audio and Video Settings – When requested, turn on your microphone and camera and share your presentation screen. During other participants’ presentations, everyone is advised to keep their microphones muted.

Additional Notes

  1. Registration is individual and non-transferable.

  2. The publication of accepted papers (theoretical essays, theoretical-empirical papers, applied papers and teaching cases) in the SemeAd conference proceedings is conditional upon payment of the registration fee by at least one of the paper’s authors.

  3. Authors of accepted papers for which registration has been completed undertake to ensure that at least one author attends the conference and presents the paper.

  4. Failure to attend and present a registered paper will result in the author(s) being prohibited from submitting papers to the next edition of the event.

  5. Authors cannot choose the date or time of their paper presentations in advance. The presentation schedule will follow the arrangements established by the SemeAd Scientific Committee.
