Studies in touristic and non-touristic contexts, that is, within the scope of events, the family, gastronomy, the hotel business, immigration, leisure, religion, tourism, urbanity, and cultural heritage. This body of knowledge translates into approaches to hosting, sociability, eating together, education, and scientific production, and it can include more than one of these or new approaches. From this perspective, anthropological, communicational, cultural, historical, sociological, and educational aspects are addressed, alongside stimulating and limiting factors for the processes and practices of tourism and hospitality in any environment, whether urban or rural.

Studies from the perspective of business management in touristic and non-touristic organizations, notably in those focused on services in general and on tourism sectors, means of accommodation, food, hospitality, and events. This body of knowledge contributes to improving and/or widening the interaction between the host and customer, a strategic and decisive factor for organizations to create competitive advantages. From this perspective, marketing, communicational, quality, and competence aspects are addressed, alongside stimulating and limiting factors for the processes and practices of tourism and hospitality in services and organizations, whether public, private, and/or from the third sector.

Studies on tourism, including impacts on and transformations of locations and communities where touristic activity occurs. This body of knowledge is analyzed based on cultural, environmental, socio-spatial, and economic aspects in light of potentialities and limitations for taking advantage of tourism.
