The challenges of internationalization: Schools, Professors and Students | Local: FEA 1 - E-1

Local: FEA 1 – E-1

The panel “The Challenges of Internationalization: Schools, Professors, and Students”, featuring Santiago Garcia, Loyda Gomez, and Mauricio Jucá (FIA Business School), examines the multifaceted process of building global academic engagement in higher education. The discussion explores how institutions can foster effective international partnerships, support professors in developing cross-cultural and pedagogical competencies, and equip students for success in global contexts. A key focus is the role of international accreditation — such as AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA — as both a driver and a benchmark of quality, shaping curriculum design, governance, and institutional culture. As novas tecnologias quânticas | Local: Auditório Safra

AI and the Changing Landscape of Work: What HRD Needs to Understand and Do | Local: FEA 1 - Congregação

Local: FEA 1 – Congregação

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence is a transformative technology that has garnered significant interest from business leaders. However, its effective implementation in the workplace remains an under-researched topic. Like other technology-driven changes, the integration of AI will require organizations and their employees to navigate a process of acceptance, adoption, and integration. Human Resource Development (HRD) professionals, as key agents of organizational change, must lead this process and prepare the workforce for these shifts. To do so, they must first examine how AI will affect human learning and work behavior, with the goal of preserving human agency alongside AI. Because of AI’s unique ability to mimic human behavior and its potential to be both transformative and disruptive, it will likely challenge established norms in skill development, knowledge management, job roles, work design, and decision-making. As a result, AI presents unprecedented challenges that HRD professionals must understand and address.
